Bats:Masters of the Night

October is the month to celebrate bats. In fact, all of 2011 is The Year of the Bat. Your friendly neighborhood library is pleased to announce its affiliation with Bat Conservation International in a joint venture to educate the public about bats, how they benefit mankind and the planet, and how to ensure the survival of these fascinating creatures.

Please join us on Friday, October 21st at 6pm for a PowerPoint presentation The Disappearing Faces of North America's Bats. Learn about bats, their lives and lore, the threats they face, and what you can do to help. There will be a program for kids 5 and up, Trick or Treat for Bats, Monday October 24th at 4pm. Play games, win prizes, and make a Trick or Treat for Bats box.

For more information, please stop in at the library, or call us at 860-873-8248.

To learn more about The Year of the Bat, go to BCI's Web site: www.batcon.org click on to Year of the Bat, to Upcoming Events, and scroll down to see our events listed. What fun!
